The human being is often referred to as a “Midaber” – the “speaking” creation of G-d. Of all human abilities and traits, it is noteworthy that it is our gift of speech that is highlighted. It is through words that we communicate and share ourselves with others. Words represent who we are and how we wish to be viewed by others.
Judaism teaches us how to refrain from causing harm to ourselves and to others through our speech and how to utilize this gift to help create a more G-dly world.
