In the Navy

Join us for an evening of inspiration, Jewish Pride and humor…

With Special Guest Speaker
Lieutenant Commander Laurie Lans

Lieutenant Commander Laurie (Zimmet) Lans has served multiple tours in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, and throughout the world. Along her many journeys, she erected a giant Chanukah Menorah in Saddam Hussein’s Palace in Baghdad, celebrated Passover in Saddam Hussein’s Hunting Lodge, arranged for a Megillah to be read high in the hills in Afghanistan, and met her future husband, Moshe Lans, on Yom Kippur 2005 in Iraq. Through all of her military journey, her Jewish pride and practice remained front and center of her life.

“Laurie Lans will make you feel proud of your Jewish identity, patriotic for our country, inspired by the heroism of our soldiers, moved to tears and bursting with laughter -- and all with one most powerful talk.” — Rabbi Moshe D. Brysk
