The Book of Deuteronomy, considered by many the most powerful book in all of literature, is Moses’ last will and testament delivered to the Children of Israel as they are poised to enter the Promised Land. It is the mission statement to each and every Jew of every generation. This semester will include the study of the Shema, the “pledge of allegiance” of the Jewish people.
