Kol Esperanza

In Concert

Over the years, various artists and groups have performed at galas and concerts hosted by Chabad of the Conejo. Few of those performances, however, so thoroughly captivated their audiences as the one given by the young pop operatic trio, Kol Esperanza, at Chabad’s Banquet Gala in 2017 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

"Those three incredible talents swept people off their feet with their powerful voices and dynamic stage-presence," says Chabad’s Rabbi Moshe Bryski, who has been looking forward to bringing the group back for an encore performance ever since - albeit with a new set-list and on a bigger stage. That is what will happen when the trio takes center-stage at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza at Chabad's "Celebration 40" on June 12, 2019.

Produced by award-winning pianist, composer, arranger and conductor, Tomer Adaddi, Kol Esperanza’s expertly-staged shows have been making appearances before sold-out crowds in concert halls across the globe since the group's formation in 2014.

Born and raised in Israel before attending some of the world's most acclaimed musical academies, Nimrod, Nadav and Omer have been featured in many popular television shows and musical stage productions, including Dancing with the Stars, Sweeny Todd and Spirit of Broadway. Even so, each member of the group points to Kol Esperanza as the most exciting project they've ever been a part of, allowing them to demonstrate the fullest range of their vocal masteries in many diverse musical genres and styles.

Tomer Adaddi, who will be the directing the program and accompanying the trio on the piano during the upcoming Civic Arts Plaza performance, will also be demonstrating his virtuosity on the keys during a set of solo piano numbers.

"It's very exciting for us to be coming back to the Conejo Valley," says Tomer. "The feedback that came back at us from the audience at our performance for Chabad in 2017 was the kind of energy every performer thrives on. When we got the call from Rabbi Bryski to come back, and to perform in a much larger venue this time, our reaction was, 'June 12th can’t come soon enough!'"

To Provide Laughs at "Celebration 40"

What’s a Jewish show without a healthy dose of laughs from a renowned kibitzer?

The provider of such comic relief at Chabad of the Conejo's "Celebration 40" will be none other than Mark Schiff, a comedian in the mold of the some of the most hilarious and legendary Jewish comics of all time.

On the standup circuit for over 30 years, Schiff just recently worked with Jay Leno and is currently on tour with Jerry Seinfeld. In addition to headlining in all the major casinos and most prominent comedy clubs across the country, Mark Schiff has appeared many times on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with David Letterman. He has had both HBO and Showtime specials, and has been the featured act at the Montreal Comedy Festival.

Mark Schiff has written a book called "I Killed: True Stories of The Road", published by Random House.  He is also a playwright who had his first play, "The Comic," produced in Los Angeles and in Aspen Colorado to standing room only crowds. The Comic was also optioned by HBO to be made into an HBO film. Mark's latest project, a new play he co-wrote with comedian Steve Shaffer entitled "Married People: A Comedy," has received rave reviews and has had audiences at L.A.'s Zephyr Theatre keeling over with laughter.
